Summer Student Maintenance

The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) is a leading industry organization dedicated to the overall planning development marketing and management of the commercial port facilities within the Port of Prince Rupert.

PRPA is seeking four (4) motivated eager-to-learn students to join the maintenance team and contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience develop professional skills and enhance career prospects.

Summer student employment is for four monthscommencingMay 4 2026 and endingAugust 28 2026unlessotherwise specified.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Students willassistthe Asset Management Department with preventative maintenance activities and work orders.
• Lead the completion ofgroundskeeping activities painting and pressure washing.
• Field work will include basic maintenance work inspections andoperatingbasic maintenance equipment and tools.
• Students willassistat community events and ensure the5Sprogram ismaintained(SortSetin order Shine Standardize and Sustain).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• The abilityto work safely isrequired.
• Strong spoken communication skills.
• General understanding of Microsoftsoftware.
• Have an understanding and be willing to use small power tools.
• Enthusiastic self-motivated and collaborative.
• Ability towork well in both unsupervised and supervisedenvironments.
• The studentsmustpossessa valid Class 5driverslicenceand beable to produce a Drivers Abstract whenrequested.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Regular working hours are Monday to Friday 7.5 hours/day with a 1-hour lunch break (unpaid).
• Work will be both in the field working on vessels and in an office environment.
• This position may require occasional irregular work hours.

The hourly rate for PRPAs Summer Student positionis$29.00.
