About this role

Grant Thornton Australia is looking for a Team Assistant to join our supportive Tax Team in our Melbourne Office on a full-time basis in a 6 month contract. This administrative role will provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Tax Team and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting firm.

Please note that this is a maximum term contract opportunity ending early October 2026

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for the team and shared admin inbox
  • Provide daytoday administrative support to the team
  • Support team onboarding leavers and general team communications
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings including Microsoft Teams meetings
  • Arrange domestic travel accommodation and itineraries as required
  • Maintain accurate records templates and filing systems
  • Assist with client onboarding including setting up clients and contacts in internal systems
  • Liaise with internal teams to support client compliance and approvals
  • Prepare and finalise client documents letters and tender materials
  • Processing of invoices and monthly billing

Skills and experience

Youll be agile responsive and enjoy the challenge of supporting a busy team. This position will suit someone with experience in a professional services environment and able to demonstrate the following skills experience and attributes:

  • Solid Microsoft Suite skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Sound organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Initiative and pride in your work particularly sound spelling and grammar
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn seek innovation and share you skills.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Concur would be an advantage
