The Geospatial Strategy & Enablement team leads the departmentwide uplift of geospatial capability across DCCEEW shaping a unified strategic direction and driving adoption of modern scalable spatial technologies. We partner closely with program areas to ensure geospatial data tools services and governance are consistent reliable and built for wholeofportfolio use.


About the role
As the Geospatial Coordination Lead you will provide strategic leadership across geospatial governance standards and collaboration working with internal teams and external partners to enable consistent high quality and ethical use of spatial data and applications across the department.

About you

You are a senior geospatial specialist with a strategic mindset strong stakeholder skills and a passion for collaboration. Youre comfortable influencing across government and translating geospatial concepts into practical outcomes.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Have experience in geospatial strategy governance or standards
  • Understand spatial data interoperability and best practice
  • Influence and engage effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Build strong partnerships across government and industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in a related field.

Who we are

The Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water(DCCEEW) work to protect the states environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy powered by affordable reliable and clean energy.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the states natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state to support the environment communities and industry.

We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
