Northwell GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Physician Assistant as a Full Time Float provider.
As a full-time float provider you will have a set template (same days worked) floating to any of the centers in Fairfield County CT.
- Fairfield County Centers: North Stamford Norwalk Brookfield Fairfield Danbury
- Coverage needs may change throughout the day which would require traveling to more than one location.
Urgent Care Physician Assistants provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats colds flu-like symptoms cuts sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treat both pediatric and adult patient populations(all ages 6 months old and up)
- Perform minor procedures (sutures casts splints etc.) and provide preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
- Make diagnoses and prescribe treatments/medications.
- Collaborative work environment with the opportunity to work with a dedicated Scribe at our busier centers.
- Work in state-of-the-art centers are equipped with advanced technology including an integrated EMR.
- Collaborate with on-site Rad Techs Medical Assistants and Paramedics for support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of fulltime experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting as a PA is required
- Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (all ages) required.
- Comfortable with minor procedures (sutures casts splints etc.) and preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.
- Physician Assistants:Masters degree and NCCPA Certification is required
