Acts as the course coordinator for the Communication Public Speaking Course including curriculum developmentfacilitatingtraining and supervising graduate teaching online and/or laboratory instruction to ensure quality delivery of instruction and integration of contentwith the Public Speaking course. Providesfor-creditinstruction in formats such as classroom online and/or laboratory settings including grading as an instructor of record.
Develop and design curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction.
Teach three for-credit classes per semester. One of those classes will be the Public Speakinglarge lecture and other classes will be based on departmental need.
Facilitate classroom online and/or laboratory instruction including assessment of student performance.
Develop andfacilitatetraining for graduate student teaching assistants in Public Speaking.
Supervisestudent employees involved in development or delivery of instruction.
Collaborate with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline.

The educational mission of UWMs Department of Communication is to graduate majors who will be able to: (1) Design and deliver effective oral and written communication to both expert and lay audiences (2) Conduct independent research that analyzes existing relevant scholarship integrates existing scholarship with ones own findings and describes ones research in written and oral form and (3) Effectively obtain evaluate and use information relevant to ones purpose.

Record of excellent undergraduate teachingexperience with Public Speaking or a related course.
Ability and willingness to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues.
M.A. in Communication or related discipline.
Experience with online teaching.
PhD in Communication or related discipline.
Experience in coordinating multiple sections of a large course.
Experience inmentoringand supportinggraduate student teachers.
