Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary Business Support Team delivering back-office and operational support services.

  • Oversee the administration and optimisation of business-critical housing and asset management systems.

  • Ensure efficient ordering and monitoring of property repairs and maintenance works.

  • Manage contractor invoice processing and financial monitoring within agreed budgets.

  • Oversee the allocation and management of housing-related assets (e.g. garages or similar property portfolios).

  • Develop review and improve procedures and systems to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Produce statutory and non-statutory performance reports including government returns and housing performance indicators.

  • Lead on data management system administration reporting solutions and compliance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information requirements.

  • Support business planning service development and strategic objectives within housing and community services.

  • Provide expert system support for housing management and repairs modules.

  • Monitor and manage service budgets within areas of responsibility.

  • Promote excellent customer service and strong stakeholder relationships across operational teams.

  • Provide operational cover for senior managers where required.

Essential:

  • Experience managing teams within a housing council or social housing environment.

  • Strong background in business support operations or service management.

  • Experience managing housing management systems and/or large operational software packages.

  • Knowledge of housing repairs and maintenance processes.

  • Experience producing performance reports management information and statutory returns.

  • Proven experience reviewing and improving business processes.

  • Strong data analysis skills including use of reporting tools and advanced Excel.

  • Experience of system administration for business-critical software.

  • Budget monitoring and financial management experience.

  • Excellent communication organisational and stakeholder management skills.
