About the RoleThis casework focused role sits within the new NSW Multicultural DFV Service which offers Domestic and Family Violence programs through culturally responsive services to women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds in South Western casework component of the service takes an intersectional approach which includes individual advocacy case management safety planning risk assessments information and referrals crisis support and counselling to address the unique needs and challenges faced by women accessing the Accountabilities and DeliverablesProvide a holistic and dignity driven domestic and family violence response to clients who have experienced or are experiencing gender-based violence using trauma-informed case management approachesProvide phone and face to face comprehensive and ongoing risk assessments safety planning crisis support advocacy information referrals to additional services and supporting clients to navigate the service systemProvide client centred approaches to victim-survivors with a strong understanding of complexities relating to domestic family or sexual violence including collaboration with other services that may hold the major responsibility for the clientPractice from a solutions-focused perspective when faced with complex situations evolving from service barriers and other system gapsEnsure work practices are ethical and comply with the practice principles standards and guidance for Domestic and Family Violence services in NSWComplete case notes within set timeframes maintain accurate data records and provide program reports as required by the senior DFSV PractitionerOther duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and ask us for a copy of the PD for the full CriteriaExperience in working with women and their families impacted by domestic and family violence;Demonstrated experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and knowledge of barriers impacting on migrants and refugees;Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills particularly in negotiation advocacy and conflict resolution;Knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of culturally gender and age-appropriate services to clients;Working knowledge of the laws related to Domestic & Family ViolenceTertiary education is social science psychology or related areas or equivalent experienceBilingual/Bicultural is DESIRABLEAbout SSISSI is a national not-for-profit organisation providing dedicated human and social services to a diverse Australia.
