Job Summary

Senior Data Engineer/Architect

Our client a forward thinking insurance company is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer/Architect to join their team hit the ground running and help drive to success. This is a permanent/direct hire position.

What will you do

Construct a holistic view of the cloud data infrastructure needed to run the business and collaborate with technology and business partners to incorporate that into their roadmap
Designing and developing while ensuring availability scalability and reliability.
Strategic planning and execution of all aspects of data architecture including establishment of current and future state architecture and transformational roadmap in alignment with business strategy
Instituting a data architecture and governance discipline to advance rapid delivery of products and data insights
Discover design and develop data flows data pipelines databases and data lakes to support the organizations data needs.
Design data models data standards and business glossary
Develop and optimize Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources transform it into a consistent format and load it into the data ecosystem.
Researches new technologies while keeping up-to-date with technological developments in relevant areas of Data Governance Master Data and Data Quality

Desired Skills/Experience

Previous experience engineering and leading data initiatives (data profiling improvement accuracy completeness integrity security stewardship and governance)
Proficient skills and knowledge of data quality tools data quality disciplines and technologies to standardize and maintain control over master data
Knowledge of modeling conventions for both data (data models) and process (data flow diagrams and process models)

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Java or Scala and experience with SQL and database technologies.
Solid understanding of distributed computing principles and big data technologies such as Hadoop Spark or Hive.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with ETL data modeling
