Senior Data Engineer/Architect

Our client a forward thinking insurance company is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer/Architect to join their team hit the ground running and help drive to success. This is a permanent/direct hire position.

What will you do

• Construct a holistic view of the cloud data infrastructure needed to run the business and collaborate with technology and business partners to incorporate that into their roadmap
• Designing and developing while ensuring availability scalability and reliability.
• Strategic planning and execution of all aspects of data architecture including establishment of current and future state architecture and transformational roadmap in alignment with business strategy
• Instituting a data architecture and governance discipline to advance rapid delivery of products and data insights
• Discover design and develop data flows data pipelines databases and data lakes to support the organizations data needs.
• Design data models data standards and business glossary
• Develop and optimize Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources transform it into a consistent format and load it into the data ecosystem.
• Researches new technologies while keeping up-to-date with technological developments in relevant areas of Data Governance Master Data and Data Quality

Desired Skills/Experience

• Previous experience engineering and leading data initiatives (data profiling improvement accuracy completeness integrity security stewardship and governance)
• Proficient skills and knowledge of data quality tools data quality disciplines and technologies to standardize and maintain control over master data
• Knowledge of modeling conventions for both data (data models) and process (data flow diagrams and process models)

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Java or Scala and experience with SQL and database technologies.
• Solid understanding of distributed computing principles and big data technologies such as Hadoop Spark or Hive.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with ETL data modeling
