The Analog Field Applications Engineer (AFAE) is responsible for partnering with Sales and providing Analog related technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. The AFAE proactively identifies current products and/or creative solutions to solve existing customer projects and create new functionality/ this role the AFAE uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to gain credibility and develop relationships with customers.
This role is responsible for application support for battery automotive products used in AUTO and Energy Storage System (ESS). Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with sales to grow TIs analog revenue with a targeted customer
- Work with the sales team to prioritize and target key and emerging accounts for TI growth opportunities
QualificationsMinimum requirements:
- Bachelors in electrical engineering control science or related degree
- A minimum of 2 years experience in Battery Management Systems. Experience in automotive R&D is a plus.
- Understanding of analog products with focus on power management and battery management
- Experience with design analysis and debug of BMS AFE peripheral circuit.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards
- Knowledge of Functional Safety or ISO26262 is a plus.
- Ability to run simulations and create/ review schematics and board layout
- Ability to help customers debug device and system level issues
- Fluent in English
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers to solve their complete analog system requirements utilizing TI components
- Strong communication skills and the ability to proactively drive customer activity
- Ability to work with multiple sales resources and field and factory-based technical resources to develop a winning solution for the customer
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills with ability to effectively relate materials to customers
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
- Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to build strong influential relationships
- Ability to efficiently context-switch between multiple concurrent tasks
- Ability to advocate for customer needs (with an understanding of why) back into the TI product groups
