About the Role

The SENCO will oversee the identification assessment and support of students with special educational needs ensuring high-quality provision and compliance with SEND legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and coordinating the schools SEND provision
Conducting assessments and reviewing student progress
Supporting teaching staff with differentiation and interventions
Liaising with parents external agencies and specialists
Maintaining accurate SEND records and reports
Contributing to policy development and whole-school inclusion strategies

Candidate Requirements

Qualified SENCO status or equivalent
Experience in SEN coordination or teaching students with SEND
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
Excellent organisational leadership and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across staff parents and external agencies
