A welcoming and community-focused school in Leeds is seeking an experienced and highly organised Premises Manager to lead the operational management of its site with an immediate start available.
This is a key leadership support role within the school ensuring the premises are safe compliant and maintained to a high standard for pupils staff and visitors. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy and well-regarded school environment.
The Role
As Premises Manager you will have full responsibility for the management maintenance and compliance of the school estate. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the site supports effective teaching and learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the maintenance and presentation of buildings and grounds
Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation and statutory requirements
Managing planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
Conducting regular site inspections risk assessments and compliance checks
Supervising and supporting site staff
Managing external contractors and monitoring quality of work
Overseeing security procedures including opening/closing and alarm systems
Supporting school lettings and occasional out-of-hours requirements
Managing premises-related budgets procurement and record keeping
You will be expected to maintain accurate documentation relating to compliance maintenance schedules and contractor performance.

The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a Premises Manager Site Manager or Facilities Manager (school experience highly desirable)
Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations including fire safety and risk assessments
Experience managing contractors and coordinating maintenance schedules
Ability to lead and organise a site team effectively
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Practical hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving ability
Reliable professional and proactive
