About the RoleSSI is recruiting for one female and one male behaviour change facilitator to join our team and support men in our Safe Healthy and Empowered Relationships (SHER) pilot is a 16-week mens Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) behaviour change program based in Logan QLD. It works with men from Dari Swahili Karen and Samoan-speaking communities who choose to take part and want to take responsibility for their behaviour. The program combines group sessions with individual support to help men reflect on their actions build healthier relationship skills and make positive changes. The role reports to the Mens Group Team Leader and involves facilitating in-language group sessions as well as providing one-on-one case management support to participants throughout the reach out to us for the full Position Description to review the Key Responsibilities and Measures of CriteriaMinimum 2 years experience working in the Domestic Family or Sexual Violence sector or community services field; or qualification in human services community work social work psychology or related fieldObserved or willing to observe a minimum of 32 hours perpetrator intervention group work within first 6 months of employment Completed or committed to completing specialist group perpetrator intervention training of at least 25 hours durationDemonstrated ability to work with both government and non-government agencies in a case coordination model. Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire technical understanding of relevant legislation and regulations specifically; The Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 including Section 5a Information Sharing the Child Protection Act 1999 and an understanding of the Family Law Act working within a cross-cultural framework and demonstrated knowledge of culturally sensitive practice when working with people from a culturally and linguistically diverse backgroundsA working knowledge of the Duluth Curriculum and the dynamics of domestic violence particularly relating to the strategies and behaviour of domestic violence perpetrators and the behaviour change in Dari Swahili Karen or Samoan language is highly regardedOther role requirements: Work a minimum of 1 afternoon shift per week from 12:00pm to 8:30pm to co-facilitate group sessions.
