POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Accounting will be responsible for a variety of high-level accounting activities for the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts for properties/equipment current liabilities long-term liabilities and other assets.
- Records costs of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible)
- Tracks existing fixed assets records any depreciation/amortization and accounts for the assets disposition.
- Maintains equipment lease schedules and ensures lease payments are made promptly.
- Collects all tax-related information and oversees reporting to taxation authorities at the federal state and local levels in a timely manner.
- Serves as primary point of contact for any other government-related finance inquiries.
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts and oversees various tax filings including deferred income sales & use building property payroll annual tax filings etc.
- Oversees corporate liquidity investments and risk management related to the companys financial activities.
- Reviews manages and reconciles company bank and credit card accounts.
- Reconciles corporate balance sheet accounts including current assets current liabilities long term liabilities and other assets.
- Oversees general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts including current assets liabilities and equity.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field masters preferred
- At least 5 years direct experience
- CPA preferred.
- Proficient knowledge (5 years experience) of related accounting software and general ledger entries
- Stellar communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Excellent mathematics skill
