AECOM is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Engineer IV at the Novi Michigan office to perform routine in-depth and fracture critical inspections. Inspections may include use of snooper trucks bucket trucks boats and/or man lifts. Inspections will require in-state and some out-of-state travel.
This opportunity can include bridge load ratings and bridge construction inspection oversight. The ability to complete design related tasks with a clear understanding of Michigan DOT regional and municipal standards is applicable to the responsibilities of this position
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staffs specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS 6 years of relevant in-service bridge inspections experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid DMV license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PE preferred but not required
- BA/BS 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Qualified Team Leader status in Michigan
- FHWA-NHI-130055 or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Certification
- FHWA-NHI-130078 NSTM Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges Certification
- FHWA-NHI-130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection Certification
- Experience operating snooper trucks bucket trucks and man lifts
- SPRAT Certification
