Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Tax Accountant Virtual Assistant to join our remote team. This is a crucial role for an individual who is passionate about taxation has a keen eye for detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital role in supporting our Australian clients by ensuring accurate and timely financial and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals companies trusts and partnerships.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) payroll tax and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
- Process payroll and superannuation on a regular basis ensuring compliance with Australian regulations.
- Conduct thorough reviews of client work to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Serve as a primary liaison with clients building strong relationships and effectively communicating financial and tax information.
- Undertake tax research and provide clear concise advisory work on various tax matters.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior accountants fostering their professional development.
- Work collaboratively and have direct contact with a diverse client base across a broad range of industry sectors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Completed a Bachelors degree with an Accounting major.
- High level of attention to detail and exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a remote team environment.
- Advanced computer literacy skills especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Australian work rights are essential. (Note: This typically means the client or the firm requires someone legally authorized to work in Australia. If this is a VA role for an Australian company from the Philippines this might mean proficiency with Australian tax law rather than actual visa status. Please clarify this with your client if unsure.)
- Xero Experience is a must demonstrated proficiency in using Xero for bookkeeping and reporting.
- Fluent in English with excellent command of business English for clear and professional client interactions.
