We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Computer Science Teacher to join our team at Lakeside Junior High School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world of technology coding and problem-solving while preparing them for a technology-driven future.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging hands-on lessons in Computer Science aligned with curriculum standards.
- Teach foundational and advanced topics such as programming (Python Java or similar) algorithms data structures web development robotics or other related subjects.
- Foster critical thinking creativity and collaboration in the classroom.
- Incorporate real-world applications of Computer Science to connect with students interests.
- Develop assessments to measure student progress and understanding.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Mentor students in extracurricular activities such as coding clubs hackathons or robotics competitions.
- Maintain communication with students parents and colleagues to support student success.
- Collaborate with the school community to develop cross-curricular projects.
Applicants must hold a current Arkansas teaching certificate. Any applicant who holds an out-of-state teaching certificate must provide documentation showing they have started reciprocity procedures as required by the Arkansas Department of Education.
Salary ranges from a minimum ($52020) to a maximum ($74777) - based on the 2025/26 salary schedule for a 190-day contract. Salary is based on experience. A complete salary schedule can be found on our school website.
