Park Maintenance-Casual (71071)

Position Summary

This position is responsible for light maintenance associated with the Universitys Hoover Park. The incumbent in this position is responsible for general upkeep of the flower beds moving furniture in the buildings at the park and light maintenance and cleaning. Other duties in other on-campus facilities assigned as needed.This is a seasonal casual as needed position. Approximately 10-20 hours per week from late April through October.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• General upkeep of the flower beds
• Light cleaning of the Hoover Park buildings including bathrooms
• Furniture moving in preparation of events
• Light maintenance including minor repairs of the facility
• Seasonal decorating

Education:

High school Diploma

Work Experience:A general knowledge of events and a working knowledge for light repairs and maintenance.

Skills and abilities:

• Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
• Ability to easily adapt as situations change and problems occur.

• Ability to lift 20-30 lbs. occasionally stand for long periods of time and work indoor and outdoor events at various times of the year

• Must be able to operate in an environment that is fast paced and often stressful

• Must be able to maintain flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold rain or heat.
