About the Role
This role is part of the Finance Shared Service Center (SSC) and is responsible for end-to-end General Ledger (GL) activities. You will ensure the accuracy timeliness and compliance of period-end closing balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting while continuously driving process improvements in a standardized and efficient shared service environment.
What You Will Do
- Handle daily activities related to month-end quarter-end and year-end closing processes including accruals provisions allocations reclassifications intercompany reconciliations and foreign currency revaluation.
- Prepare review and post general ledger journal entries in compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations analyze variances and ensure timely resolution of open items.
- Manage the full lifecycle of fixed asset accounting and ensure consistency between book and physical assets.
- Handle intercompany settlements cash application and related reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements audit schedules and management reports.
- Assist with internal and external audits tax reviews and compliance checks;
- Participate in process improvement initiatives system upgrades and SOP updates.
- Complete other ad-hoc or special accounting tasks as assigned.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelors degree or above in Accounting Finance Auditing or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience with hands-on GL/R2R experience in an SSC environment.
- Proficient in SAP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (functions pivot tables data analysis).
- Good command of written English for daily work communication.
- Strong attention to detail sense of ownership ability to work under pressure during closing periods and good communication and teamwork skills.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Have experience in SSC or multinational company finance work.
- Have experience in process optimization or project management.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA system implementation or go-live.
- Basic Japanese language skills.
