Learn more at & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D is recruiting for a Associate Director Portfolio - Therapeutics Discovery. This position is a hybrid role and will be located in Spring House PA.
The Associate Director Portfolio - Therapeutics Discovery (TD) will share oversight of the scientific projects and resources within Discovery as they relate to the internal portfolio. This leader will be responsible for maintaining this information and will be the single source of data for the rest of the organization.
The Associate Director will be part of one of the TD Large Molecule Leadership teams supporting that group with updated resourcing and portfolio information on a regular basis. Partner with leaders across Discovery to maintain accurate information to provide a regular report on Discovery projects and capture changes to the portfolio as they happen in real time. Therefore the leader will likely participate in discovery governance meetings. This leader will also find the appropriate way to share portfolio information to a large number of peers and leaders across Discovery Product Development and Supply (DPDS) and then further into Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (Therapeutic Areas Delivery Units Finance). Challenge current paradigms with creative out of the box thinking in a matrixed team as well as to develop new more efficient processes that enable Therapeutics Discovery to continue to drive scientific innovation and increased efficiency in execution and delivery of the portfolio.
Principal Responsibilities:
Maintain single source of Discovery portfolio information as utilized across Innovative Medicine R&D.
Participate in one of the Large Molecule Leadership Teams as liaison from Portfolio supplying the team with necessary resourcing and portfolio information.
Maintain the Discovery portal keeping it live (based upon feedback).
Qualifications:
A minimum Ph.D. degree in Biological Science Chemical Science or related scientific discipline is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a PhD degree is required.
Knowledge/understanding of the pharmaceutical discovery portfolio and structure is required.
Strong scientific understanding of multiple modalities and therapeutic areas is required.
Experience with large molecules is preferred.
Experience with technical reports and New Molecular Entity (NME) documentation is preferred
Experience working in a laboratory environment is required.
Experience working with international teams is preferred.
Experience in mentoring and coaching others is preferred.
Experience as a proven leader on complex initiatives is required.
Experience in assessing technology external environment and R&D process requirements to successfully drive operational productivity strategy optimization process improvements and efficiencies is required.
Demonstrated understanding of R&D process business acumen is preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have strong leadership skills.
Must have strong organizational skills.
The ability to develop and lead the execution of strategy business transformation and initiatives is required.
The ability to translate data into information and strategies into executable action plans is required.
The ability to develop collaborative and effective relationships in a complex and highly matrix organization is required.
