Woodston Personnel is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist & General Physician to join our esteemed clients healthcare facility in Ireland. This role is ideal for a versatile and skilled physician who can seamlessly navigate between general medicine and gastroenterology providing high-quality patient care in both specialties.
The Consultant will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders as well as other medical conditions ensuring holistic care for patients. This position requires excellent clinical skills effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough assessments and create management plans for patients presenting with gastrointestinal and general health issues.
Conduct diagnostic procedures including endoscopy and colonoscopy when required.
Provide consultations for general medical issues and coordinate care across specialties.
Collaborate with nurses specialists and support staff to facilitate comprehensive patient management.
Participate in departmental meetings case discussions and provide mentorship to junior colleagues.
Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance service delivery.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with hospital protocols and regulations.
Educate patients and families about their conditions treatment options and wellness strategies.

Job requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Specialist qualifications in Gastroenterology and General Medicine (e.g. FRCP FRCPE or equivalent)

Eligibility for Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council
Fluency in English.
