Job Summary
HELP BUILD PRECISION THAT POWERS PRODUCTION.
POLYWOOD is looking for a Machine Toolroom Technician who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and takes pride in precision craftsmanship. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building repairing and modifying high-quality tooling while working to tight tolerances that directly support production efficiency and product quality.
What Youll Do:
Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools including lathes mills grinders drill presses and EDM equipment.
Manufacture repair and modify tooling fixtures dies molds and machine components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints CAD drawings and technical documents.
Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers calipers height gauges indicators CMM etc.).
Perform precision grinding fitting and assembly of tool components.
Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Follow safety standards and maintain a clean organized toolroom environment.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and reduce downtime.
Perform preventative maintenance on toolroom equipment.

What You Bring:
3 or more years of experience in a toolroom or precision machining environment.
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship in Tool & Die Machining or related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of machining processes metal properties and tooling materials.
Ability to work to tight tolerances (.001 or better).
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
Basic computer skills; experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Experience with surface grinding and wire EDM.
Welding or fabrication experience.
Lean manufacturing knowledge.
