Position Title: Director of Human Resources
Department:Administration
Location:Central Office
Reports to:Superintendent
FLSA Class:Exempt
SUMMARY:The Director of Human Resources leads all HR functions to support the districts mission and ensure high-quality staffing across schools. The role oversees recruitment employee relations performance management compliance and labor relations while fostering a positive inclusive workplace. As a key advisor to district leadership the Director ensures HR practices align with educational goals and help attract develop andretaineffective staff.
DUTIES
- Oversee the hiring process of thedistrictfrom beginning to end. Recruitscreenand recommend employment of applicants.
- Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies andregulationsby the schools staff and students.
- Works toward the accomplishment of district-wide goals set by the Board of Education
- Oversee staffing assignments for all employeesyearly staffingreviews andenrollmentprojections.
- Ensurestaff membershave required certifications.
- Administer provisions of collective bargaining agreements and/or district procedures dealing with staffing transfers discipline leaves resignations retirement benefits vacations absencesgrievancesand supplemental pay.
- Consult with and advise administrators and supervisors on contract interpretation and implementation.
- Workwith District legal counsel on personnel contract and grievance matters.
- Assistwith negotiations for alllabormanagementorganizations.
- Oversee the District employee performance evaluation PERA.
- Adviseadministrative staff about discipline job performance employee duties and assignments.
- Serve asTitle IX and District complaint manager.
- Conductemployeedisciplinary investigations.
- Supervisethesubstituteprocessfor certified staff.
- Conductstaffonboardingand exit interviews.
- Approvecertified staff workshop credit and movement on the salary schedule.
- Manage and oversee the districtsFMLA unemployment OSHA compliance forms andworkerscompensation.
- Reviewemployee leaves sick leave banks and accident/injuries.
- Oversee mandatedtrainingfor all staff.
- Develop andmaintainup to date employee handbooks.
- Attend Board meetings and prepare such reports for the Board as the Superintendent mayrequest.
- Attend all meetings of the Board of Education
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of abachelorsdegree;mastersdegreepreferred.
- At least5years of Human Resource Management Experience;SchoolAdministratorCertification and experiencepreferred.
- Demonstrates exceptional written communication skills including the ability to draft clear professional correspondence policies reports and employee communications with accuracy discretion and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates the ability to build andmaintainpositive professional and collaborative relationships with employees leadership and external partners to support organizational goals and a respectful workplace culture.
