DescriptionDiagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Oklahoma City OK
Hours: Monday-Friday 11pm-7am
Essential Functions:
- Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
- Perform all assigned duties and processes including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
- Maintain a positive professional and supportive attitude throughout the workday
- Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful productive work environment
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for performing routine and non-routine activities pertaining to laboratory testing and the reporting of results; performs moderately difficult to complex tasks; performs assigned analytical testing procedures in an accurate precise and timely manner.
QualificationsRequired Knowledge: BS in Medical Technology; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology or associates degree in laboratory science or medical technology
Required Experience: 1-year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
Special Requirements:
- Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.
- Must interact with other departments.
- Contact with clients may be required good customer service skills are important.
- Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking and/or standing.
- May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
