The General Affairs department at TU/e is looking for a driven Senior Change Communication Strategist who will help energize and mobilize our organization.

Job Description

Your mission

The General Affairs service department empowers TU/e to achieve its ambitions by turning strategy into action. General Affairs leads a wide range of strategic change programs and projects. With the Institutional Plan TU/e is setting out a renewed and ambitious course. Your contribution as Senior Change Communication Strategist is essential in engaging employees activating them to contribute and strengthening internal connections across the organization enabling TU/e to move forward as One TU/e toward the future.

Position overview

As Senior Change Communication Strategist you combine strategic insight with a hands-on mentality. You not only advise on strategies and interventions that positively influence behavior and build support but you also translate these into clear compelling formal and informal messages and communication doing so you contribute to a constructive and open dialogue about change at TU/e. This is not a general communications role but a strategic change function at the intersection of organizational development leadership and communication.

You feel at home in a university environment and serve as a professional and knowledgeable sparring partner for colleagues senior management and the Executive Board. Youre a real team player and through your approach and way of working you inspire and connect with stakeholders and colleagues; you lead by example.

What will you do

  • Developing implementing evaluating and adjusting (communication) strategies and communication plans for strategic change programs and projects in close cooperation with the Chief Transformation Officer the Strategy Cluster General Affairs and your Marketing & Communications colleagues.
  • Develop the change (communication) strategy and policy proposals and recommendations that are crucial to the strategic and long-term functioning of the institution as a whole or its essential parts.
  • Develop a compelling change narrative around One TU/e and the organizations ambitions and safeguard its consistent application across various communication channels.
  • Advise and support TU/es leadership coalition (Executive Board directors and management) in guiding employees through change activating them to contribute and strengthening internal connections within the organization.
  • Act within a decision-making structure characterized by a complex interplay of internal and external players and environmental factors (financial-economic social political). Understands the strategic arena of the domains and is able to manage power dynamics effectively.
  • Draw up clear compelling formal and informal messages and communication tools to enable the strategic changes foreseen.
  • Inspire and engage fellow communication professionals in the field of change communication helping to further develop this expertise within TU/e.

Job Requirements

What do you bring

  • You are a communications professional with a completed university-level degree (Master) specializing in internal and change communication.
  • You have at least 7 years of demonstrable hands-on experience in large-scale organization-wide change management and transformation communications preferably within a complex (academic) organization.
  • You are a proactive strategic thinker with a strong hands-on mentality.
  • You are flexible creative analytical and result-oriented.
  • You are a team player and connector who easily engages with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization including executive leadership and board level.
  • You have strong execution and persuasion skills enabling you to translate complex issues into impactful communication and sound advice.
  • You have a concise engaging writing style and a strong sense of visual communication.
  • You have excellent command of both Dutch and English spoken and written.

  • A monthly salary of minimum 6.512- to maximum 7.904- for full-time employment depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 13 collective labour agreementfor Dutch Universities).
