DescriptionDiagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Oklahoma City OK
Hours: Day Shift 7am-5:30pm (4-10 hour shifts) rotating schedule weekends and holidays
Essential Functions:
- Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
- Perform all assigned duties and processes including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
- Maintain a positive professional and supportive attitude throughout the workday
- Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful productive work environment
ResponsibilitiesPerform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing as needed. Follow employer policies work with fellow employees in a professional productive manner and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
QualificationsRequired Knowledge: General laboratory knowledge including the ability to use computers. Must have knowledge of QA and QC. Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.
Required Experience: AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.
- Teamwork with fellow employees is a must.
- Keyboard skills are important.
- Good customer service skills professional appearance and attitude.
- Must work overtime or other shifts if required.
- Able to work 10 hour shifts rotating weekends and holidays.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking and/or standing.
- May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
