LPN (7a-7p) PRN

Penick Village Inc. Continuing Care Life Plan community is seeking compassionate professional and dedicated LPNs to join our clinical team.

The LPN/RN must be a compassionate and professional individual willing to carry out Penick Villages vision and goals of delivering the highest level of care to those we serve. The LPN/RN will provide care to the residents living in Penick Villages Skilled Unit Residential Assisted Living and Garden Cottage. The primary purpose of the LPN/RN is to provide direct nursing care to residents and to coordinate the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Elder Assistants and Medication Technicians. Such coordination must be in accordance with current Federal State and local standards guidelines and regulations that govern our facility and as may be directed by the DON/designee to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the CNAs and Medication Technicians in accordance with current rules regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Ensure that the written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department are followed by all nursing personnel assigned to you.
• Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the residents total regimen of care is maintained.
• Ensure that the nursing personnel under your direction are following their respective job descriptions.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms reports studies charting etc. as necessary.
• Participate in the facilitys quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
• Participate in the updating of the residents written discharge plan as required.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the residents discharge plan as necessary.
• Participate in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift are required.
• Periodically review the departments policy & procedure manuals etc. Make recommendations for revisions.
• Meet with your assigned nursing staff as well as support personnel in planning the shifts services programs and activities.
• Interpret the departments policies and procedures to personnel residents visitors and government agencies as required.
• Assist with admission transfer and discharge residents as required
• Maintain the Daily Census Report and submit to the Business Office as required.
• Perform charting and documentation according to facilities policy and procedure manual.
• Prepare administer and document medication as ordered by physician and according to facility policy and procedure manual.
• Function as an Assistant Responder for Independent Living residents.

Job Requirements:

As an LPN/RN you must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with patients families physicians community resources and visitors.

• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Must be able to relate information concerning a residents condition.
• Must be able to communicate strongly and effectively.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Education:

• Currently licensed as an LPN/RN in the state of North Carolina
• CPR Certification
