Education

Required -High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred -Additional degrees business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications

Work Experience
Required -2 years in commercial or light industrial experience

Preferred - Experience in 480V to 4160 voltages

Certifications

Required-Electrical license necessary after 6 months of hire

Other

Required -Trade school training in the electrical field. Electrical license.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Knowledge of the State Parish and the Southern Building Codes.
• Ability to and experience withproper use all power hand tools and specialized equipment associated with the electrical trade.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to and experience with working with minimal supervision.
• Ability to and experience with reading writing and understanding mechanical and electrical symbolisms to enable one to interpret blueprints schematics specifications and mechanical.
• Drawing skills in order to document electrical charges on existing prints for upgrading by CADD.
• Stress management skills.
• Ability to crawl climb bend and lift 50 pounds without any restrictions.
• Ability to work indoors outdoors in restricted spaces amounting to static postures/positions which must be held for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work flexible schedule such as nights evenings weekends holidays extended shifts and take emergency calls.

Job Duties

• Maintains and repairs complex electrical systems.
• Performs Preventive Maintenance and Documentation.
• Researches and troubleshoots problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate Dependability and Adherence to Ochsner Clinic Foundation Professional Appearance Policy.
• Other related duties as required.

Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace especially in an industrial setting can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
