Software Development Engineer II, Security Issue Management

If you are not an AWS power-user you will be after working with us.

The Security Issue Management team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team in leading the technical vision and architecture for mission critical systems.

Our organization is responsible for the protection of customer and corporate data. Were connected to all parts of Amazons business and its massive worldwide service-oriented architecture. We enable the Amazon business to build architect and operate their enterprise-scale systems securely on AWS.

Our problem space presents the opportunity to innovate in areas such as enterprise scale resource management in the cloud real time cloud intelligence and building systems that make it easy for service owners to build and maintain secure systems. You will partner with the leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions that will influence and impact Amazons software stack on AWS. You will also have the unique opportunity to provide inputs to the next generation of AWS services by representing one of its largest enterprise customers Amazon.



Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on the team you will:
- be an autonomous contributor across all the software the team owns.
- deliver features which directly impact the customer experience spanning from frontend website to backend services
- work backwards from our customer to software design implementation testing and deployment operations and documentation.
- contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle including design development documentation testing and operations
- demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
- deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
