Job Summary

JOB OBJECTIVE

Oversees all Front-of-House (FOH) operations for Saint Johns Neighborhood Dining Rooms (CBRF and SNF) and both FOH and Back-of-House (BOH) operations for the Prospect Grill casual dining restaurant. Ensures exceptional person-centered service and dining experiences across all venues through strong leadership hospitality and operational excellence. Responsible for supervising FOH staff in the Neighborhood dining rooms and supervising both FOH and BOH staff within the Prospect Grill. Provides leadership in food production menu execution staff development and coordination of daily operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Management & Supervision
  1. Lead hire train schedule and supervise FOH staff across all Neighborhood Dining Rooms.
  2. Lead hire train schedule and supervise both FOH and BOH staff for the Prospect Grill.
  3. Supervises approximately 25 employees including FOH servers Neighborhood dining employees and grill cooks.
  4. Responsible for making hiring and disciplinary recommendations that carry particular weight and participates in final hiring and termination decisions.
  5. Oversee performance management coaching corrective action and staff development for both Neighborhood and Grill teams.
  6. Ensure 100% cross-training between Grill FOH Grill BOH and Neighborhood FOH staff to support operational flexibility.
  7. Responsible for people development and team culture building.
  8. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with all direct reports.
  9. Requires a flexible schedule including 45-50 hours per week evenings weekends and holidays.
  10. Participate in weekend on-call rotation.
Dining Operations & Environment
  1. Provide FOH leadership for CBRF and SNF Neighborhood Dining Rooms ensuring gracious person-centered service cleanliness quality and regulatory compliance.
  2. Oversee both FOH and BOH daily operations in the Prospect Grill including service standards kitchen workflow ticket times prep execution and service coordination.
  3. Works with LifeStreams team to coordinate special events and theme meals.
  4. Ensures special diets are followed food preferences honored and service conducted in line with the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and dining regulations.
Menu Execution & Food Production
  1. Oversee food production in the Prospect Grill ensuring consistency quality and timely execution.
  2. Prepare the daily Lunch and Dinner Specials for the Grill.
  3. Assist Executive Chef with menu planning for all casual dining venues.
  4. Support dietary staff in the Neighborhood Dining Rooms with menu accuracy communication and FOH execution.
  5. Create and maintain Grab & Go labels menu boards and service signage.
  6. Ensure all FOH and BOH staff follow proper food handling procedures including time/temperature controls allergy awareness and crossâcontamination prevention.
  7. Monitor and enforce compliance with all food safety standards including ServSafe guidelines and state/local health department regulations.
  8. Conduct routine checks of food storage labeling dating and rotation practices (FIFO).
  9. Verify that all hot and cold holding temperatures meet safety requirements during prep service and storage.
  10. Ensure proper sanitation of all foodâcontact surfaces and equipment throughout service periods.
  11. Support staff training in safe food handling hygiene glove use and handwashing protocols.
  12. Respond promptly to any food safety concerns equipment issues or sanitation deficiencies.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
  1. Approve payroll and correct timeclock entries for Neighborhood FOH staff and Grill FOH/BOH staff. Monitor overtime and ensure appropriate staffing levels in accordance to budget parameters.
  2. Review cashier reports credit card receipts and billing reconciliation as needed.
  3. Review invoices and pricing for products used in all casual dining venues.
  4. Place food and supply orders for Prospect Grill (Coke Amazon Cedar Crest GFS) and paper supplies for all dining venues.
  5. Maintain food safety documentation such as temperature logs and sanitation logs for both FOH and BOH areas.
Communication & Coordination
  1. Update and distribute weekly menus for both Neighborhood dining rooms and the Prospect Grill.
  2. Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef Nursing staff and Dining leadership teams.
  3. Participate in the monthly dining committee and dining financial meetings.
  4. Act as liaison between FOH and BOH to maintain consistent service and operational flow.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum age 21; high school diploma or GED required.
  2. Manager ServSafe certification required.
  3. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in restaurant or hospitality settings. Long-term Care dining experience preferred.
  4. Minimum 2 years experience in quality meal production.
  5. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Publisher; ability to learn dining software such as FullCount.
  6. Excellent communication customer service and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to multitask adapt to operational needs and work both independently and collaboratively.
  8. Professional appearance and conduct; commitment to serving older adults.
