Job Summary

Oversees day-to-day operation of The Prospect Grill including supervision of staff. Facilitates solution of staff/resident issues to ensure optimal/gracious dining experience. Performs and is the lead on a variety of tasks including food preparation/assembly sanitation labelling signage credit card receipts and direct billing/receipt reconciliation special events and marketing flyers. Works together with all members of the Community to uphold and further the mission vision principles and values of Saint Johns.

ESSENTIONAL DUTIES:

Management and Supervision

1. Hire train and supervise Grill staff. Evaluates performance and implements corrective action when needed.

2. Schedules Grill and Neighborhood staff according to budgeted hours and department needs.

3. Implement Cross Training between the Grill and Neighborhood Wait Staff

4. Monitor the dining environment for overall cleanliness safety and atmosphere. Intervenes when conditions warrant by using learning circles teaching opportunities and/or work orders. Follows up on incident reports and implement preventive strategies or makes recommendations.

5. Assist Executive Chef with menu planning.

6. Assist with as well as prepares the Lunch and Dinner Specials for the Prospect Grill

7. Adapts to schedule changes or works overtime to meet the needs of the department.

8. Approves payroll and corrects any punch errors for the Grill and Neighborhood Wait Staff

9. Creates and maintains Grab & Go labels

10. Maintains confidentiality of all residents department and organizational information.

11. Follows all safety security infection control (including Category III Standard Precautions) and hazardous materials policies and procedures. Performs all tasks to assure resident and personal safety and the protection of Saint Johns property.

12. Attends mandatory in-services as required.

13. Completes mandatory Relias Training as required

14. Place Coke Amazon Cedar Crest and GFS food orders for the Prospect Grill. Orders paper supplies for all of dining. Executive Chef help when needed

15. Reviews cashier reports

16. Reviews invoices and pricing

17. File and post temperature logs

18. Conducts 1.1 meetings with all staff.

19. Attends the monthly dining committee meeting.

20. Completes performance evaluations for the Staff at the Grill

21. Completes all onboarding paperwork with all new hires at the Grill

22. Attends Monthly dining financial review meetings.

23. Works every other weekend and Holidays.

24. Acts as the Manager on Duty for the community as required.

25. Creates & Maintains regular and AlaCarte Breakfast Lunch and Dinner Specials

26. Updates Communicates and prints weekly Menus

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED with additional training and experience in hospitality services.

2. Must be Manager Serv Safe certified.

3. Minimum of 2 years previous supervisory experience preferably in a restaurant setting

4. Minimum of 2 years previous experience in quality meal production

5. Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow established procedures and a range of verbal/written instructions with a high degree of accuracy.

6. Must read write and speak English in an understandable manner.

7. Must demonstrate and be proficient in all Microsoft software including Word Excel and Publisher and have a proven record learning customized computer software such as Full Count.

8. Must demonstrate dependability and excellent communication and problem-solving skills be honest exhibit a warm cheerful caring manner and be regularly at work on time as scheduled.

9. Must have the ability to adapt to changing organizational needs work flexible hours to meet the scheduling requirements.

10. Must be professional in actions neat attire appropriate to the position excellent customer service skills and desire to work with and serve older adults.

11. Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow established procedures be able to multi- task be able to work independently and perform various duties without close supervision.
