Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age by date of hire
Must be a student in Katy ISD
Ability to follow instructions (written or oral)
Ability to comprehend verbal and written English
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving skills
Must be self-motivated accountable and dependable for the job task
Must be safety conscious and should have a conviction for any safety concerns
Ability to maintain emotional stability
Primary Purpose:
Assist summer school classroom teacher(s) of ESL and/or bilingual students in Pre-Kindergarten Kindergarten and grade 5 during the Katy Summer Program.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with ESL and/or bilingual students in Pre-Kindergarten Kindergarten and grade 5 in classroom and small group settings.
- Monitor students in the classroom cafeteria and bus lines.
- Participate in in-service training offered by Katy ISD.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Computer printer and copier.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing stooping bending kneeling carrying lifting and reaching. Work around moving objects and vehicles. Work inside and outside. Exposure to high temperatures and humid conditions.
