Finance Manager, Amazon Flex

Amazon Flex is at the forefront of delivery operations owning a significant piece of Amazons Last Mile delivery strategy both currently and into the future. The Flex model utilizes independent contractors to help fulfill Ultrafast customer deliveries including Amazon Grocery Whole Foods same day orders and beyond. Our Finance team works closely with Technology Product and Program Managers to track performance reporting and support analysis for optimization of labor planning pricing routing and expansion opportunities which help improve safety customer quality and reduce costs.

With a rapidly expanding team and scope we are looking for a Finance Manager who is a creative problem solver to support our growth while gaining excellent Operations Finance experience. This role will support Flex finance in EU working closely with the EU Flex business team and cross-functional business leaders across the Last Mile organization. This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders in Flex Operations Flex Tech Amazon Logistics (AMZL) and Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF). You will work with business operators technical product managers legal teams and software developers while designing and developing performance measurements and quantifying impact to the business based on strategic input drivers to grow and continuously improve the economics of the business.

They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. You bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. Key job responsibilities
- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models interpret data draw conclusions and make recommendations that deliver results drive improvements and influence leaders throughout Amazon. These decisions can have global impact.
- Identify resolve or provide guidance to manage complex data sets and analyses. You will bring in insights to address financial risk and support frugality.
- Use active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear concise and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. Your communications drive critical business decisions.
- Collects and analyzes quantitative data to develop relevant reports that drive cost reductions.
- Drives own self-development in the Finance Community: seeks opportunities to expand finance expertise. Participates in events initiatives and projects then shares gained knowledge in and outside of your team.

- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

- MBA or CMA or CPA
- Experience with SQL or ETL
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits)
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
