Role purpose

Design and evolve the platform capabilities that connect domains and enable safe scaling of digital and AI on top of modernised cores. Define interoperability patterns guardrails and reusable platform services to accelerate delivery with control.

Your key responsibilities

• Define platform services: API gateway event mesh identity/access reference data observability and developer tooling.
• Establish API/event patterns and domain contracts across core channels ledger risk and data platforms.
• Contribute to technology strategy (build/buy cloud/onprem) and IT operatingmodel changes that improve the business of IT.
• Guide teams on reliability security compliance and cost; partner with TMOs on release governance and controls.
• Shape and deliver scalable resilient endtoend solutions ensuring designs are fully considered robust and aligned to agreed architectural standards.
• Act as the conduit between business and technology functions; translate outcomes into clear design options and actionable plans.
• Provide highquality guidance and documentation to enable a rapid secure path from design to build/run.
• Contribute to business development: shape proposals provide solution credibility in pursuits and support mobilisation of wins.
• Develop people and communities of practice; coach junior colleagues and embed reusable patterns assets and playbooks.

Skills & experience required

• Platform/integration architecture across APIs events and microservices; understanding of cloud platform services.
• Experience defining patterns/guardrails and working with multiple delivery teams in parallel.
• Knowledge of identity secrets observability and operational controls.
• Strong collaboration with architects product owners and engineering leadership.

Ideally youll also have

• Exposure to FinOps cost attribution and performance engineering.
• CIO advisory experience (strategy sourcing operating model).

Success measures (KPIs)

• Adoption of platform services and patterns; reduced integration cycle times.
• Improved reliability/SLOs and security posture.
• Reduction in duplicate solutions and tooling sprawl.
