| Job Description: | The Chair serves as the departments chief administrative officer and provides leadership and oversight for the departments academic research and administrative operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Providing strategic leadership for departmental priorities in research instruction and service
- Supporting faculty and staff success through effective supervision performance management and professional development
- Coordinating academic programming including curriculum planning course scheduling catalog content and teaching assignments
- Leading faculty and staff recruitment efforts and overseeing search processes in alignment with college and university procedures
- Managing departmental finances including budget development monitoring and stewardship of expenditures and resources
- Coordinating evaluation processes and supporting merit and recognition efforts as appropriate
- Serving as a liaison to CLAS leadership and representing the department with campus and external partners
- Strengthening engagement with students and stakeholders and supporting continuous improvement through assessment reporting and data-informed decision-making

| Expected Salary: | This leadership role is compensated through an administrative supplement provided in addition to the selected candidates regular faculty salary. - Experience leading strategic planning assessment and/or program evaluation.
- Experience supervising personnel and managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience representing an academic unit with campus and external partners.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic administrative or program settings with responsibility for planning and execution of complex initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
