DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: The Human Resources department of the OSU Foundation is dedicated to fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment that attracts engages and develops top talent. Our primary purpose is to provide strategic human capital management and support that aligns with the OSU Foundations vision mission and goals. By focusing on employee-centric practices and cultivating a culture of excellence Human Resources uniquely supports the functions of the OSU Foundation through employee engagement employee relations talent management and operational efficiency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Human Resources Intern will provide administrative support to the Human Resources team including recruitment organizational development compensation and benefits and front desk coverage.
KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Operations (85%)
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for interns and select full-time positions leveraging the applicant tracking system to post openings screen candidates conduct interviews and coordinate final hiring steps.
- Coordinate candidate communications by providing timely updates guiding applicants through next steps and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Assist with onboarding activities by preparing personnel files organizing required documentation and ensuring all new-hire paperwork is completed accurately.
Human Resources Operations and Administrative Support (10%)
- Provide front desk coverage to ensure consistent professional service and support as needed.
- Greet visitors and guests in a courteous professional and service-oriented manner.
- Answer and route incoming calls promptly and accurately.
- Assist with check distribution processes in coordination with university departments.
- Process sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Prepare and distribute daily gift receipts as needed.
- Perform local errands including deliveries to the post office bank and other designated locations as needed.
- Maintain and organize personnel recruitment and general Human Resources files in both electronic and physical formats.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of employee records in accordance with applicable legal and organizational requirements.
- Serve as a liaison to other student and intern employees providing guidance support and fostering collaboration within the organization.
Other Human Resources duties as assigned (5%)
JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
Education & Certifications-
- Current full-time enrollment at Oklahoma State University in a bachelors or graduate degree program; concentration in human resources management preferred.
- Active membership in the Human Resources Management Association preferred.
- Current student membership in Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) preferred.
Experience-
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of Human Resources responsibilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills with basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).
- Cooperative team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work a minimum of 1520 hours per week Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
- Proven sense of humor and ability to have fun!

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to communicate effectively in person by phone and via video conferencing. Requires frequent repetitive motions when operating computers telephones and standard office equipment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer attending meetings or participating in events. This role includes traveling locally for daily errands as needed which may include walking on campus and navigating varied environments. Requires a valid drivers license. Ability to lift carry push or pull materials weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
