Senior Application Technologist - Beverages

Overall mission:

Participate in flavor application and provide technical expertise to guide operational excellence and improve client delivery systems according to business goals and EH&S policies. You will be based in Vienna (Austria) and report to the Application Manager. The position will be opened with a 1 year long fix-term contract (maternity cover).

You will:

Flavour Application

• Accomplish daily brief-related tasks including flavour selection product evaluation and application development
• Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs research projects and portfolio evaluations
• Select flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer regulatorylegislation cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
• Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications

Knowledge sharing and expertise

• Be a technical expert and advisor to marketing sales flavour creation and customers for specific applications
• Coach train and motivate technicians and technologists

Data maintenance

• Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles

Environmental Health & Safety

• Maintain a safe clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Professional Experience:

• Polytechnic or B.S.: minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in a food applications lab production or related area
• Masters Degree: minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in a food applications lab production or related area
• Ph.D.: minimum 0-1 years of experience in a food applications lab production or related area

Technical Skills

• Understanding of selected food applications ingredients and processes with practical experience in customers food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
• Lead selected customer projects
• Translate market trends into innovative products for selected customers
• Instruct technicians and technologists
