What you will do:
This role will primarily be focused on receiving with cross training in shipping. The Shipper/Receiver will perform and/or supervise general physical activities in order to load unload sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment. Manage verification acceptance counting and inputting into ERP system of all incoming goods and their condition. Assist with manufacturing production work when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Primary duties will focus on receiving and product putaway with cross training in shipping duties
- Ship and receive all parts and materials as required ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Update status of inbound and outbound orders in ERP system
- Resolve discrepancies between orders and goods such as delays conditions quality etc.
- Maintain inventory of incoming stored and outgoing goods as well as the current available space
- Contact carriers to obtain quotes make arrangements and issue documentation including customs paperwork following the instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
- Coordinate packing and shipping of all goods including assembling packages weighing them and tracking costs
- Order shipping supplies as required
- Perform general housekeeping tasks within the shipping & receiving area
- Perform general duties and assist production team as required
Required knowledge and experience:
- Vigilance in following and enforcing the companys health & safety rules
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience with preparing international shipments including customs documents is an asset
- High attention to detail with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment
- Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up to 50lb
- Ability to multitask and assist production team when required
- Experience and/or ability to drive a forklift or willingness to learn
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel TEAMS Outlook Word) and experience with using ERP systems
- Familiar with using major couriers software/websites (UPS Purolator Fedex etc)
- 3-5 years experience in shipping and/or receiving environment
