The role
The primary duties of this role include:
Internal and external ESG and sustainability reporting including responsibility for data quality transparency assuranceand alignment withbest practice frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g. TCFD EPRA best practices SECR GRI and ISSB).
Determinerelevant ESG benchmarkspreparesubmissions and manage relationships with benchmark providers.
Climate-related risk and opportunity assessment and reporting in line with TCFD and evolving regulatory standards ensuringappropriate plansare in place to mitigate risks.
Act asaESG reporting representative with investors ratingagenciesand key stakeholders.
Be a technical subject matter expert on sustainability climateriskand ESG reporting.
Whenappropriateupdateor contribute totheSustainabilityWorking Group1on:
- ESG and sustainability reporting;
- The development and periodic refresh of Landsecs sustainability strategy and associated commitments and targets ensuring alignment with best practice frameworks and evolving requirements; and
- The development and implementation of Landsecs climate transition plan including updating Landsecs science-based target (SBTi) commitments to ensure alignment with SBTi guidance.
Principalaccountabilities
Corporate sustainability reporting (internal and external) monitoring progress against our commitments and targets within the Buildwell Livewell Actwell framework and aligning with best practice frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g. TCFD EPRA best practices SECR) working onthe sustainability assurance data process annually.
Assess and plan which benchmarks Landsec shouldparticipatein on ESG matters evaluating which assessments are of most interest to our stakeholders especially investor audiences.
Submissions for all chosen ESG benchmarks obtaining all information required andsubmittingdata in line with deadlines.
Build relationships with key ESG benchmarks and research providers to understand their research methodologiesidentifyingpotential gaps and ensuring that our publicly disclosed information meet their requirements.
Engage internal and external stakeholders(including the Sustainability Working Group1)on our ESGstrategy and performance clearlydemonstratingthe strong value ESG brings to Landsec and how our performance on ESG drives commercial value.
Key competencies
Excellent environmental knowledge andexpertisein real estate.
Ability to influence and motivate others taking complex technical ideas and explaining them in an accessible and engaging manner to people at all levels of seniority.
Business and commercial acumen to be able to communicate sustainability in conventional cost and value terms to both internal and external audiences.
Excellent numerical and data analysis skills.
Excellent Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Project management skills.
Knowledgeexperienceand qualifications
Essential
Experience in presenting complex ideas to all audiences.
Significant experienceof reporting/ESG benchmarks including GRI ISSB EPRA best practicesCDPand GRESB.
Assessing and reporting climate change risks in line with TCFD recommendations.
Background in energy and carbon analysis management and reporting including legislative requirements and standards.
This is a 12month FTC role.
