Faculty Interventional Radiologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB ) seeks a full-time interventional radiologist to join its expanding Division of Interventional Radiology. UAB Medicine is a state-of-the-art academic medical center located in the vibrant city of Birmingham Alabama. About the Division Our robust IR division includes ten full-time faculty members six physician assistants and all ACGME -accredited interventional radiology residency training pathways. The incoming faculty member will support continued growth across inpatient and outpatient services at UAB Hospital Childrens of Alabama and The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital all conveniently located on the same campus facilitating streamlined multidisciplinary collaboration. Position Highlights Academic track position with opportunities for clinical educational and scholarly involvement Procedural variety across adult and pediatric care Active involvement in teaching IR/DR and DR residents as well as medical students Opportunities for research and scholarly work (encouraged but not required) Supportive team-based environment emphasizing collaboration and mentorship Work-Life Balance While the IR role is primarily in-person due to the procedural nature of the specialty we support sustainable work schedules with: Night and weekend call shared equitably Structured academic and non-clinical time for professional development Qualifications Board certified or board eligible in Interventional Radiology (IR/DR or DR with CAQ ) Completion of accredited interventional radiology training (residency or fellowship) Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama Academic rank compensation and tenure will depend on qualifications and experience. Qualified applicants should be certified in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR) or a subspecialty certificate in interventional radiology by the American Board of Radiology.
