JOB SUMMARY:Intern will participate in new attraction development with Universal this position the Intern will learn the process of building and testing ride and show control system designs and methods by working with the team leading the virtual commissioning effort. Intern will gain a working knowledge of industry safety and standards by applying software enterprise and game/modeling knowledge.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and enhance software tools for use by other UDX team members.
- Analyzes existing ride and show control system design functionality and applies to new system development.
- Emulate device behavior with scripts inside of Unity to maintain up to date versions of the model in step with real world development.
- Work individually or in pairs/groups to complete the tasks necessary to provide value to the tools that have already been created.
- Interest in and understanding of PLC software will be integral since tools interact heavily and directly with that software (provided by others).
- May be asked to contribute to all aspects of full stack development including front end back end and database development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite primarily Excel required.
- Working knowledge of software fundamentals (i.e. conditional statements data types memory allocation)
- Working knowledge of electrical fundamentals (i.e. circuits and three-phase systems)
- Relevant coursework includes: Control Systems Object Oriented Software Design Circuits and Digital Systems System Engineering
- .NET or any object orientated programming language
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Computer Engineering Software Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Preferred experience with micro-controllers and sensors
- Preferred experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Industrial Automation software platforms (i.e. Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens Tia Portal)
- Unity CAD C# Ladder Logic

- This internship will be an in-person experience based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
