Temple University Hospital is a nationally respected teaching hospital on Temple Universitys bustling Health Sciences Center hospital provides a comprehensive array of healthcare services both basic and complex to patients from around the corner across the country and around the world. As the chief clinical training site for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University the hospital provides a dynamic environment for high-quality care teaching and cutting edge research.

The Student Assistant will support the Performance Excellence Department in initiatives aimed at improving the quality safety efficiency and overall performance of the hospital. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare quality improvement data analysis project coordination and process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data collection analysis and reporting related to performance improvement projects.
  • Support process mapping workflow analysis and identification of inefficiencies in clinical and administrative areas.
  • Prepare presentation materials reports dashboards and summaries for project meetings and leadership briefings.
  • Participate in team meetings training sessions and performance reviews.
  • Conduct literature reviews and best practice research as needed for improvement projects.
  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring progress toward departmental goals.
  • Maintain organized documentation of project timelines deliverables and outcomes.
  • Take initiative to work independently on assigned tasks managing time effectively and ensuring timely completion with minimal supervision.
  • Perform general administrative support as required by the department.

The Student Assistant must be a College Student

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Experience
3 Years experience with Microsoft Office Software Programs (Required)
