We are now looking for a Communications Manager to join our team for a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate on some of our most high-profile projects supporting our senior leadership team including our chief executive and board members.

About the Role

  • Coordinate and draft high quality corporate communications including our annual report to drive understanding of the Guardians unique ownership model and organisational achievements.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a drumbeat of activity through the year building a programme of internal and external creative campaigns to support this work.
  • Be part of the on-call media rota with other members of the communications team coordinate and draft responses to inquiries for approval.
  • Be part of the team that works on board communications and presentations for senior management.

About You

  • You will have excellent written verbal and editing skills and experience in writing and creating a wide variety of high quality communication materials in a news media or editorial environment.
  • In depth understanding and experience of working with senior stakeholders on multiple communications and/or writing projects to tight deadlines.
  • This role requires strong stakeholder liaison skills alongside a proactive willingness to learn strategic communications principles from senior leaders within the team
  • A passion for Guardian journalism and the ability to write well.

We operate in a hybrid environment working 3 days a week from our offices in Kings Cross and 2 days a week remotely.

Youll have 30 days of annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
