Sentara is hiring a Flexi/PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg VA.
Location: Harrisonburg VA- Sentara RMH
Status: Flexi/PRN
Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)
Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)
Weekends: Every 4th Weekend
Holiday Rotation
*Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.

Registered Pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice. Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technicians scope of practice as needed
Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program and certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire is required
Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice
In addition to the above job responsibilities other duties may be assigned
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program
Certification/Licensure
Certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire in the state of practice is required
Experience
Previous Pharmacy Experience (preferred)
