Location: Torrance CA 90503
Duration: 5 months (Temp to Hire for the right candidate)
Schedule: Position starts out days a month and then rotates with 12 hour days/nights schedule rotates.

Position Overview
This contractor role reports directly to the Torrance Operations Manager and supports the Finished Goods Logistics function within the company. The primary responsibility is the safe and efficient packaging handling and shipment of finished goods while maintaining high standards of safety housekeeping and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Logistics Duties
- Perform yard operations including sampling weighing inspecting loads and loading/unloading trucks railcars and ISO containers within scheduled timelines
- Package products into drums and totes
- Maintain plant housekeeping and cleanliness standards
- Ensure accurate and efficient shipment of finished goods
Equipment & Process Operations
- Operate monitor and field-check process equipment and control systems
- Perform routine operational tasks such as equipment preparation sampling and inspections
- Identify process deviations and troubleshoot operational issues
- Initiate maintenance work requests in SAP as required
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks (e.g. valve replacements fixing small leaks steam traps)
Safety Compliance & HSEQ
- Follow Operating Discipline principles to ensure safe and efficient plant operations
- Actively participate in safety programs Immediate Response (IR) team activities and EH&S initiatives
- Identify hazards report near misses and support corrective actions
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste (RCRA compliance)
- Maintain compliance with all legal regulatory and internal HSEQ requirements
Continuous Improvement & Team Support
- Contribute to plant performance improvements efficiency gains and energy reduction initiatives
- Participate in AIMS initiatives and procedure development/verification
- Collaborate with operations maintenance and support teams to achieve plant goals
- Support other production areas as needed
Accountabilities
- Serve as the first and last point of contact for trucks entering and exiting the facility
- Verify completion and accuracy of loading operations
- Ensure adherence to safety environmental and operational standards

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior chemical or manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work indoors/outdoors and across all shifts including overtime
HSEQ Responsibilities:
- Comply with Regulations Legal and Internal Requirements as made known by the site and by the business unit (BU).
- Comply with the rules of the specific location to which one is assigned as well as the rules set by the business unit.
- Comply with all standard procedures and work instructions aka SP SOP PWI TM to ensure productivity quality assurance and cost effectiveness.
- Review their work areas for potential losses and Report hazards to the direct supervisor.
- Report Near Misses to the direct supervisor.
- Report Incidents or Accidents to the direct supervisor.
- Identify and communicate potential gains or possible improvements to the management system.
