At Rotherfield Primary School we are seeking an enthusiastic experienced and dedicated SENCo to lead and develop our SEND provision. This is a unique opportunity to join a warm inclusive community committed to ensuring every child thrives.

As our SENCo you will be a pivotal member of our leadership team responsible for leading and coordinating SEND provision to ensure every child with additional needs is supported to achieve their best. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Inspiring inclusive practice and driving continuous improvement in SEND provision across the school.
  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the SEND provision maintaining the SEN register and overseeing assessment and review processes.
  • Advising and supporting staff with evidence-based strategies to meet the needs of children with SEND and ensuring their social and emotional well-being.
  • Coordinating applications and reviews for Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Building strong partnerships with families external professionals and agencies to ensure smooth transitions and holistic support.
  • Managing resources effectively including the SEN budget and deployment of some support staff.

This role offers a rewarding chance to shape SEND practice in a school that values innovation collaboration and high-quality teaching. We are looking for a compassionate knowledgeable SENCo who:

  • Is a qualified teacher with experience in delivering inclusive high-quality teaching.
  • Holds or is willing to achieve within three years the National Professional Qualification for SENCOs (NPQ SENCO).
  • Has a strong commitment to raising outcomes for children with SEND and a deep understanding of best practice strategies and interventions.
  • Communicates effectively and builds positive productive relationships with children families staff and external partners.
  • Is organised proactive and able to lead with empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrates a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
