This position reports to:

Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

ABBs manufacturing facility in Mebane NC is searching for a dynamic experienced and accountability-driven Operational HR professional to join their leadership team to help drive the positive organic growth within the plant and enable leaders to thrive.

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop and implement people strategy through the execution of HR processes. Each day you will provide HR support for a defined team or location by partnering with respective managers. You will also showcase your expertise by representing HR in the business and establishing strong relationships with all business leaders and employees.

The work model for the role is onsite in Mebane NC (#LI-Onsite).

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Ensuring an effective overall HR contribution and value-add to the business in partnership with the functions and Shared Services.

  • Supporting the business and the execution of HR processes involved across the end-to-end employee lifecycle by determining and delivering the best approach in the area of responsibility and executing the HR priorities while adding value to the business.

  • Partnering with respective managers to develop and implement people strategies.

  • Facilitating change management initiatives and driving behavior change & continuous improvement across the respective business area / area of responsibility.


Our team and business unit dynamics:
This role will lead a small team of HR professionals but also interface regularly within our matrixed environment with other groups business lines and divisions. Directly supporting 700 employees from a facility and remote perspective.


Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources management Industrial relations or related discipline plus 12 or more years of HR experience.

  • 5 years of Senior HR Management experience in large manufacturing; solid HR expertise including employee relations organizational development and staffing compensation and performance management

  • Workday system experience

  • Ability to manage and influence in a matrix global environment

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Change management/facilitation skills

  • Candidates must possess work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
