Entergys Project Delivery Engineering Departmentis responsible forthe planning designing constructingmaintainingand operating over 16000miles of transmission lines and over 2700 substations across the four-state territory.
Intern Job Description:
Working in a team environment toassistengineers in day-to-day activities including but not limited to:
Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
Utilizing CAD software to create construction drawings for projects
Preparing relay operational one-line drawings
Validate estimating prices and equipment units ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
Managing projects that are in construction
Completion of as-built documentation
Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
Work on special projects toassistin improving grid reliability
Responding to equipment failures
Support lab testing and operations
Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning economic analysis maintenance design project management and construction and operations
Support andparticipatein project scoping activities for substation projects. Review existing relay with design and construction organizations to develop project scope and estimate sheets.
Support project schedules and processes by using activity tracking applications such as Primavera.
Model power systems usingAPA (previously known as PSSCAPE). Maintain master model for relay fault analysis. Support wide area coordination. Occasionally useadditionaltools such as ETAP EMTP andHypersim.
Develop relay settings for substation protective relays. This includes performing fault studies and developing relay settings for transmission protection equipment related to capital projects and asset maintenance projects.
Works with field groupsdistributionengineersand plant engineersto ensure coordination of downstream distribution devices for the system.
Supportactivitiespertaining toSERC/NERC standards compliance and other utility relations asrequiredwith focus around PRC and CIP standards.
Establish and improve relay testing laboratory. Develop and support relay test plansfor planned projects.
Support development of configurationsfornon RTU assets such as DFR and PQ meters.
Participate in substation visits.
Manage documentation via Documentum (WebTop and IPS-TRAMS) for transmission system protection and other records according to company and departmental policies.
Support protection standard development and implementation asrequired.
Investigate impact of relay firmware and software changes to Entergy system applications. Develop and update templates asappropriate.
Develop departmental guidelines/tools and provide training as needed.
Accessnew technologies. Lead better application development geared toward fault studies and relay and implementsmartgridin Entergy system.
Participate in Entergy continuous improvement projects.

Education Requirements:
Candidates must be actively pursuing a bachelorsmastersor doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.
Preferred:Junior and Senior candidate with graduation dates of May 2027 and beyond.
Minimumcumulative GPA of2.8isrequired(on a 4.0 scale).
