Job Summary
Purpose Statement: The Automation Engineer Staff - Inventory Control serves as a principal technical specialist within the Inventory Control team focusing on identifying developing deploying and maintaining automation solutions specifically for Inventory Control across the Plexus value stream. This role integrates site operations and customer needs with industry advancements to drive continuous quality efficiency and velocity improvements in inventory control operations encompassing design development analysis production and commercialization
Key Job Accountabilities:
Technical Expertise and Mentorship: Serve as a go to technical specialist leader and mentor within the manufacturing discipline related to Inventory Control automation.
Project Leadership and Execution: Function as a technical and/or project team lead on small to mid-size Plexus Manufacturing Processes specifically focusing on Inventory Control automation. This includes providing technical guidance and training controlling scope schedule and budget and ensuring overall technical success.
Innovation and Technology Life Cycle Management: Drive the technical lifecycle management of scalable Inventory Control technology deployments overseeing execution from ideation through deployment and thoughtful retirement. Actively research and stay current with disruptive technologies and industry trends relevant to Inventory Control automation to fuel technical innovation. Lead continuous improvement activities for Inventory Control automation processes and project-level tools
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Lead continuous improvement activities for Inventory Control automation processes and project-level tools. Drive the technical lifecycle management of scalable Inventory Control technology deployments from ideation through thoughtful retirement. Stay current with disruptive technologies and industry trends relevant to Inventory Control automation to fuel technical innovation.
Data-Driven Insight: Implement rigorous evaluation processes to measure the efficacy and impact of changes driving continuous improvements based on data-driven insights.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively build and maintain effective collaborations with internal cross-functional teams (e.g. site operations IT) and external partners (e.g. vendors academic institutions) to integrate diverse insights and align all aspects of Inventory Control automation solutions with operational strategy. Provide customer service leadership in project technical discussions business continuity and new proposal creation.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering or science is required with a Bachelors degree in Engineering or higher preferred.
Minimum eight (8) years of related experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
Proficient English reading writing and speaking abilities required.
