**** Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as professional/standardized patient for simulated patient scenarios to assist clinical practicum students under the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program to learn the skills in advanced practice nursing.
  • Memorize scripts attend rehearsals and portray/mimic patients with a wide array of medical/health problems.
  • Exercise confidentiality about protected patient information.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree in performing arts education nursing social sciences public health or related field with three (3) years of professional experience;
  2. Demonstrated professional acting skills;
  3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills through proven ability to interact effectively with others;
  4. Demonstrated interest in learning health issues with excellent listening skills who can focus on the educational goals of the sessions;
  5. Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
