Location: Mercy Hospital South 10010 Kennerly Rd. St. Louis MO 63128
Schedule: Full-Time 36 hours/week
Shift: Night Shift 7:00 PM 7:30 AM

About Med Surg 5E
Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including:
- Small bowel obstructions
- Respiratory infections
- Pneumonia
- Cellulitis
- Diverticulitis
This unit offers an ideal learning environment for new graduate nurses to:
Develop strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
Build confidence managing diverse patient populations
Strengthen foundational Med Surg nursing practice

Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to deliver compassionate high-quality patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating patient care with interdisciplinary teams
- Evaluating effectiveness of care delivery
- Advocating for patient safety and rights
- Maintaining confidentiality and professional standards
- Delivering care aligned with Mercys mission and service values
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure
- Active Missouri RN license or compact license (required)
Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
(may be obtained within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Prior healthcare or clinical experience welcomed but not required for new graduates
- Interest in medical-surgical nursing and professional growth
Physical Requirements
- Lift push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to bend reach kneel twist and squat as required for patient care
