Electrical Engineering Intern

Job Summary

Americas Residential a division of ASSA ABLOY is looking for a highly motivated and practical Electrical Engineering Intern to work in our headquarter office in Lake Forest CA . This role will offer you the opportunity to be a part of a global company and the market leader in opening solutions.

You will be working closely with our Engineering teams and will an integral part of deeply knowledgeable engineering team that strive to build the most robust and reliable lock systems using cutting-edge software development tools and practices. You will be supporting the engineering staff by performing research design support documentation engineering calculations testing and verification and other related tasks as skills allow. The Internship role will have the opportunity to work with software firmware and hardware engineers on a regular basis. At the end or your internship you will present your accomplishments and results to the Engineering Leadership team. Must be available to work onsite in our Lake Forest office 3 days a week for our hybrid schedule Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Will be remote Mondays and Fridays.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• (70%) Work closely with and assist senior level engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments such as circuit-level simulation and verification
• (10%) Design and set up experiments collect data and write test protocol and qualification reports
• (10%) Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of senior level engineers

• (10%) Presentation support: assist in creating presentation models and materials for engineering and executive review

Education and Experience Profile

• 3rd or 4th year or recent graduate majoring in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or STEM related curriculum.

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of hardware engineering processes tools methods test development algorithms and circuit development
• Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuits
• Basic knowledge with CAD tools such as Eagle/Altium/OrCAD/PADS
• Basic knowledge of programming in C C or python
• Experience with hands on soldering plus
• The ability to collaboratively work within a team environment and consistently make contributions to help the team reach their objectives
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with various levels of corporate structure.
• Self-starter attitude and proficient in managing independent schedule/s.

Work Environment

• Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
• Hybrid work in our Lake Forest Headquarter office at least 3 days/week.
